Questions About Liberty Girls?

Liberty Girls is a private heritage-centered club whose curriculum is rooted in European and European-American history, traditions, folkways, and cultural inheritance.

To be eligible for membership, an applicant must be able to trace European ancestry through both her maternal and paternal family lines. Membership is not based on ancestry percentages, nor does an applicant need to be exclusively of European ancestry. The requirement is simply that identifiable European lineage can be traced on both sides of the family.

This shared heritage is foundational to the Liberty Girls curriculum. Members explore family history, ancestral traditions, cultural inheritance, and the European roots of the American experience throughout the program. Because these subjects are woven throughout the curriculum, the heritage requirement is a core part of membership.

Liberty Girls believes in freedom of association and respects the right of people from every background to form communities that preserve, celebrate, and pass on their own culture, heritage, and traditions.

Liberty Girls may look familiar at first because girls belong to local groups and earn badges, but Liberty Girls is not a scouting organization.

It is designed as a sisterhood club with its own educational philosophy, traditions, values, heritage focus, ceremonies, learning pathways, and long-term progression from childhood into young womanhood.

Badges are part of the experience, but the program goes much deeper than badges. They are tools for developing competence, character, curiosity, and real-world capability.

Liberty Girls is designed to grow with girls from childhood through their teen years.

The foundational Bee Bud years are generally appropriate beginning around ages 6–8, but an older girl who is new to Liberty Girls may also begin with Bee Bud foundations before progressing into the older levels.

As girls mature, the skills, responsibilities, discussions, service, and leadership expectations deepen with them.

Yes. Liberty Girls includes Adult Hives for women ages 18+. A woman does not need to have a daughter in Liberty Girls in order to become a member of an Adult Hive.

Adult Hives carry the same underlying spirit of Liberty Girls into an adult sisterhood centered on heritage, tradition, lifelong learning, practical skills, fellowship, service, and cultural continuity.

Yes. Bee Bud is the foundational introduction to the Liberty Girls experience, not simply a collection of activities for very young children.

An older girl may move through foundational material differently or more quickly, but she can still benefit from learning the Honeycomb Values, understanding the Liberty Girls traditions, and receiving exposure to the major learning pathways before progressing.

The founding Liberty Girls Hive is being established in Grapevine, Texas.

Liberty Girls is being developed with the intention of supporting additional Hives in other communities as the private club grows.

Liberty Girls is currently in its founding-stage rollout.

Yes. Mothers are encouraged to participate in the Liberty Girls experience alongside their daughters when they wish.

A mother may learn skills, participate in traditions, help with activities, and become part of the wider sisterhood. Mother participation is encouraged, but it is not required for a daughter to belong to Liberty Girls.

Liberty Girls is built around learning through experience.

A girl might study a tree and then identify it outdoors, learn the history of a traditional craft and then make something herself, navigate with a compass, build, garden, cook, preserve food, observe insects, practice first aid, study family history, paint, sew, arrange flowers, learn music, or serve someone in her community.

The goal is not simply to finish an activity. It is to develop judgment, competence, curiosity, perseverance, and genuine confidence.

Liberty Girls encourages girls to ask questions, attempt difficult things, make mistakes, adjust, try again, work with their hands, think critically, and discover that many problems can be solved when they give themselves time to figure them out.

Liberty Girls participate in experiences across a broad range of subjects and practical skills.

Depending on age and level, girls may explore nature, history, craftsmanship, woodworking, gardening, food preparation and preservation, first aid, navigation, music, creative arts, etiquette, service, heritage, and other practical or cultural studies.

The purpose of this broad exposure is to awaken curiosity and help girls discover interests and abilities they may never have known they possessed.

Liberty Girls badges represent learning and experience, not simply attendance.

Each badge gives girls opportunities to gain knowledge, practice skills, complete hands-on experiences, and connect what they are learning to one or more of the Honeycomb Values.

As girls grow, the expectations behind their badges become more advanced and increasingly independent.

The six Honeycomb Values are:

Integrity · Character · Wisdom · Service · Stewardship · Liberty

These values are woven throughout the Liberty Girls experience. Girls do not only memorize them; they encounter opportunities to practice them through badges, responsibilities, challenges, service, relationships, and everyday choices.

Liberty Girls is not marketed as a specifically Christian program. Its values are compatible with many traditional Christian values, and some Liberty Girls materials may include references to God, Scripture, or the religious heritage present in American and European history.

The central framework of the program is the six Honeycomb Values and the opportunity for girls to put those values into real-world practice.

We believe girls benefit from understanding that they are part of a story larger than themselves.

Heritage study allows girls to explore family history, traditions, historical events, craftsmanship, music, stories, customs, and the people and ideas that helped shape the communities and country they inherited.

The goal is not to live in the past. It is to understand what came before, preserve what is worthy, and thoughtfully carry meaningful things forward.

A Hive is the heart of Liberty Girls. It is a small, local community where girls and women build meaningful friendships, share traditions and experiences, learn together, serve together, and develop a genuine sense of belonging.

One of the central purposes of the Hive is the creation of intentional community. Liberty Girls is built on the belief that strong relationships and meaningful community are essential to healthy individuals, strong families, and a healthy society. We were not meant to move through life entirely on our own.

For that reason, a Hive is intended to become more than a group that gathers for scheduled activities. Through regular meetings, shared work, celebrations, ceremonies, service, traditions, adventures, and ordinary time spent together, members have the opportunity to form relationships that deepen over time.

The Hive also creates a place for intergenerational connection. Girls can learn alongside mothers, grandmothers, mentors, and other women, allowing knowledge, skills, stories, values, and traditions to be passed naturally from one generation to the next.

In this way, the Hive reflects one of the central ideas of Liberty Girls: Every Girl Matters. Every Girl Contributes. Each member brings something of her own to the community, and the community becomes stronger through the participation, care, knowledge, and contribution of its members.
